The Portal live event space.
Join a living thinking community. Four live events, every month.
-
Concept Cave
Is a space to learn and discuss fundamental concepts. Each month Dr. Cadell Last will highlight a specific concept from the foundations of modern philosophy and open up a space for discussion on how we may relate to or think with that concept today.
-
The Edge
Is a space to walk the razor’s edge of contemporary thought and practice. Each month a thinker walking the “razor’s edge” of a new idea or collision between ideas will be invited to share with us what they have newly discovered/created in the real or anticipated.
-
Thought Lab
Is a space to learn from and think with a thought leader about our shared becoming. Each month a thinker who has spent an extended period of time mediating core ideas will be invited to help us think with these ideas and relate them into our daily life or philosophical journey.
-
Real Talk
Is a space for free association and full speech inspired by liminal thinkers and living ideas. Each month a thinker whose life practice directly engages the real will be invited to inspire us to explore deeper parts of ourselves using the method of free association.
How does it work?
Philosophy Portal is an online education platform. The Portal functions as its living thinking community. Members are welcomed to all live events (but this is not an expectation), and get access to the entire history of recordings. Upon joining you automatically get access to our private portal space where you can access live events and our recorded history, you will also be added to the formal mailing list which is used to announce the next event, as well as update you when an event recording has been updated to our private portal. Members also get free access to select courses as well as discounts on all past courses and permanent early-bird pricing for future courses. In this way joining The Portal is the easiest way to start getting involved with Philosophy Portal as a whole. Throughout 2025, all members of The Portal will get access to “Deleuze and Analysis”, a course taught by Prof. Terence Blake; as well as a Slovenian School Reading Group, led by Dimitri Crooijmans.
-
Every week there is an opportunity to join a live event hosted by The Portal, which you can access inside the private portal site, and/or will be notified of in our formal private mailing list.
-
The Portal gives you access to the entire history of events, which includes four events every month of 2024 and 2025 (plus live sessions from our 2024 retreat).
-
Members of The Portal have discounted access to previous and future recorded courses taught by Dr. Cadell Last, and free access to many other courses.
