In this book discussion focused on Systems and Subjects with Layman Pascal, Thomas Hamelryck, Daniel L. Garner, and Tim Adalin, I offer my perspective on the origin of this book, and each of my guests offers their perspective on their reading of the book and its purpose, before I in turn offer my response to their perspective, and they also offer a final reflection. Layman is interested in the intersection between systems theory and religion; Hamelryck suggests that the book’s main focus is concerns with avoiding idolatry; Daniel Garner offers that the key is the book involves facing negativity; and Tim Adalin reflects that it is a powerful book in need of deeper metabolisation in context.
