Daniel Tutt and I discuss the paternal function in the context of his book Psychoanalysis and the Politics of the Family. Throughout the discussion we focus on the nature of patriarchy as a dialectical process of overcoming bonds of dependence, as well as situate patriarchy historically in the formation of online groups.
