THE ORTHODOX HERETIC (w/ Peter Rollins)
In this conversation, Peter Rollins and I discuss his book, The Orthodox Heretic. We first explore Rollins background as a man, spirit, and a philosopher, leading up to his coming to be the Orthodox Heretic. In this context, his early mystical experience, what he describes as an event of subtraction, led him first to the Church, and second to philosophy. We then discuss his concept of Pyrotheology, Atheism for Lent, and many contemporary problems our society faces in the digital age. From there we attempt to dive into Peter's theological views as expressed in The Orthodox Heretic. This includes the dimension of Christ as an unimaginable love, a radical forgiveness without conditions, and the relationship between teachers and students.
