ENTER THE ALIEN (2): Buddhism, Hegel, and the Becoming of Spirit (w/ Quinn Whelehan)

In this discussion, I explore Quinn Whelehan's chapter in Enter the Alien, focused on the relation between Nagarjuna's Buddhistic logic and Hegel's dialectical logic. Quinn is a spiritual seeker interested in the connections between Eastern spirituality and Western philosophy. He focuses on the question of logic in both Buddhism and phenomenology in an attempt to build a deeper dialogue between East and West in an increasingly connected global world. HIs goal is not only to demonstrate the way Western philosophy has developed new ways of thinking about logic, but also the way in which this logic can help us better understand the historicity and self-reflexivity of the East.
